This morning I ran the BA5K with my BFF and a few other friends. MH’s son Damian was diagnosed with biliary atresia shortly after he was born and was hospitalized for over a month, recovering from surgery. Imagine the surprise when we found out this rare disease has a 5k to raise money and awareness!
Damian was a great sport and had a great “run” in the jogging stroller. He was popular with the ladies, too! Everyone wanted to come over and squeeze his chubby cheeks.

My mom made us shirts for the event. On the front, it read “Team Damian” and the back said “I love someone with biliary atresia.” MH made a shirt for Damian that said “I am loved.” The shirts were a huge hit and we received many a compliment. Thanks, mom!
Overall, the event was well-organized and a lot of fun. We’ll definitely be back next year.
Afterwards, we went out to lunch at Raging Burrito, where we enjoyed delicious Mexican fare.
I totally forgot to snap a picture of my Mediterranean Quesadilla, but it was delicious.
This beautiful sticky face kept us company.

I was way overdue for a new pair of running shoes, so we stopped into Big Peach Running Co. to get my run analyzed. I learn I overpronate quite a bit, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing (correct me if I’m wrong!), but I bought some new shoes that should help with that. I stuck with the asics, but switched to a pretty purple color.

I also picked up some of my new favorite fuel. I had this on a long run last week and loved it. I haven’t been able to find it since so I was excited when I saw some today.

Now time to go hang out with this precious baby.
10 miles on the training plan tomorrow. Wish us luck!
