German Chocolate Cake
2So, did you know that german chocolate cake isn’t actually of German origin? Well, it is of german origin. Just not of German origin. Confused?
German chocolate cake is actually named after Sam German, an American who branded a new version of dark baking chocolate. He used it in the cake and from then on, it was referred to as german chocolate cake.
Wikipedia doesn’t lie, folks. Other things that don’t lie? The deliciousness of this cake. My hips.
I cheated a bit and used boxed cake mix and pre-packaged icing. Whatevs. Shortcuts are necessary sometimes. And it was still darn good.
I used little ramekins given to me by my BFF for throwing her baby shower last December. I love the color and how they contrasted with the rich, dark cake.
And seriously, can we get a food holiday that ISN’T a dessert? Just a few? Maybe? No? Okay.
