Negative Splits and Other Running News
Last week I ran my very first negative split!
I find joy in the little accomplishments in running, even if I still run short distances super slow. Hey, some progress is better than none!
I felt amazing after that run, mostly because it was 80 degrees outside, and as I have discovered, I run stronger when it’s hot outside. On a somewhat related note, the decibel level of my music is directly related to how fast I run. Fact.
The Cooper River Bridge Run is this weekend and to say I’m excited would be an understatement. Charleston has a special place in my heart and I’m ecstatic to visit, even if just for a short time. I am looking forward to a relaxing drive, running over that famous bridge, maybe visiting the beach, buying books at Blue Bicycle, possibly eating at Five Loaves. I am desperate need of a vacation after how crazy these last few weeks have been.

I went to 20/20/20 today and it was haaaaard! The class is 20 minutes cardio, 20 minutes strength and 20 minutes abs. I had basically talked myself out of it before I went, because I was super tired (as in, almost fell asleep on my desk today) and was feeling crappy. I’m glad I went though, because now I feel accomplished and a bit sore. I’m trying to take it easy before the race this weekend, save up my energy for the monster of an incline.
Um, yeah.
On that note, it’s time for bed. I’ve got a very exciting post set for tomorrow, so stay tuned!
